 Dear boys and girls：

      Welcome to the English class of Chengdu High School Affiliated to Beijing International Studies University. I am your English teacher，and l will guide you to explore the magic English world. We will read aloud in sunny classrooms to appreciate and learn the unique preciseness and elegance of English. We will play colorful English dramas in the international auditorium to taste various kinds of life experience through ancestors' wisdom. We will hold warm English speech contests and debates on the Shouzheng Avenue to let our thoughts collide，and make our dreams fly over the Gate of Diplomacy and to the whole world.

    相信你已被英语神奇的魅力和魔力所打动，那么赶紧收拾好行囊，和北二外成都附中七年级的英语“铁骑”一起，行动起来，学好英语，为自己的终身发展奠基，让自己的人生多一种精彩的可能。关于未来三年的英语学习，七年级全体优秀的英语老师对你有以下要求：

     I believe that you have already been touched by the charming and magic English. Therefore, please pack up yourself and take actions with the English cavalry of Chengdu High School Affiliated to BISU to learn English well. Prepare yourself for the whole-life development and create one more excellent opportunity for your life. All of the English teachers of Grade 7 have the following requirements for your English learing in the next three years.

    1，学会预习。俗话说“不打无准备之仗”，预习对于英语学习很重要，那么怎样高效地预习呢？a.在预习听说类内容时，一定要跟着磁带大声跟读，可以用录音笔或请爸爸妈妈用手机帮自己录下读的英语录音。通过对比自己与磁带的发音，不断纠正，不断模仿，以培养出标准、流利、清晰的语音语调。b.在预习短文时，要用英文字典查出生单词的意思和例句，并把课文中的生单词和漂亮的句型表达抄在小本子上，随身携带，等公交时，外出排队时，把小本子翻开复习一下，把生活中的“垃圾时间”高效地利用起来，让改变在一点一滴中发生。c.预习作文课时，要学会勾画题目要求，在题目的要求范围内，训练自己的批判性思维，模仿范文中的表达，并在不断的写作中将这些规范漂亮的表达内化成自己的英语写作本领。

     1，Pre-study before the class. There is one old Chinese saying 'Never fight without preparations.', and preparation is very important for English learning. Therefore, how  to pre-study effectively? a. When you are pre-studying listening and speaking parts, please read aloud after the tape. And you can use recording pen or ask your parents to record your spoken English. By comparing your spoken English with the recording, you should correct and imitate the tape time after time in order to develop standard, fluent and clear English pronunciation and intonation. b. When you are pre-studying reading part, you should use a dictionary to figure out the meaning and examples of the new words and write down the new words and expressions on a small notebook. You can open this small notebook when you are waiting for a bus or in a queue. In this way, you can effectively take advantage of the 'rubbish time', and make changes happen day after day. c. When you are pre-studying writing part, you should learn to mark the writing requirements and train your critical thinking according to the requirements. Please learn to imitate excellent English expressions from samples and make them become your own English ability through thousand times of writing exercise.

 2，在课堂上大胆举手，大胆开口说英语。在北二外成都附中的英语课堂，你不用害怕自己不太好听的发音，不用害怕自己说不满一两分钟，因为没有人生来英语就说得很流利。英语的学习，百分之百靠的是汗水和努力！所以，在课堂上一定要认真思考，积极回答老师的问题，大胆地与同伴进行英语对话，互相学习，学习发音，学习口型，学习得体的肢体语言。一口漂亮流利的英语，能够由内而外地提升你的形象和气质，让你变得绅士，变得淑女，变得优雅，变得自信。

     2，Be brave to raise your hand and open your mouth in the English class. In our English classes, you do not need to fear your pronunciation and the length of your content. No one is born to speak English fluently! English learning is one hundred percent decided by working hard. Therefore, please think earnestly and answer the teacher's questions actively. Hope that you can bravely practice  conversations with your partner and learn from each other. You should learn pronunciation, the shape of the mouth and correct body language. A perfect spoken English will improve your temperament from your soul to the outlook, and you might be a gentleman, a fair maiden, an elegant person and a confident man.

 3，主动请教老师，当日问题，当日清。不管什么时候遇到不懂的知识点，都要主动地找老师当面请教。我们英语老师都十分的和蔼可亲，办公室离大家的教室也很近，十分欢迎同学们主动来问问题，让我们一起沟通，一起讨论，提升成绩，取得成功！

    3，Ask teachers actively, and finish language questions every day. Whenever you encounter a problem, please be active to ask the teacher face-to-face. All of the English teachers are friendly and warm-hearted, and our office rooms are close to your classroom. We warmly welcome active students with English learning problems.  Let us communicate and discuss to achieve success.

    4，不断复习。英语单词和句型很容易遗忘，一般需要反复记忆3-7遍，并不断地在口语和写作中运用才能让这些单词和句型成为自己永久的知识。不过不要害怕，也不要嫌麻烦，因为就像银杏树一样，珍贵的东西总是慢慢成长。单词和句型积累到位了，练习到位了，你的英语能力就会有质的飞跃，而这样的飞跃往往是别人短期内难以超过你的。通过长期积累训练得到的知识和能力会让你在中考，高考甚至今后的职业生涯中出类拔萃。

     4, Review constantly. You will find that you forget English words and expressions easily. But do not be afraid, because you should recite words and expressions for 3-7times before you remember them in your long-term memory. Like the ginkgo tree, precious things always grow slowly. Once you accumulate words and expressions after a long period of time, you will find that your English ability will reach a high level. And this kind of achievements will make you outstanding in the Senior High School Entrance Examination  , the College Entrance Examination and even your future career.  

 5，多读，多看，多听，多想，多写。英语是一门开放的，国际性的学科，除开密密麻麻的单词和枯燥乏味的语法，一本有趣的英文原著，一部经典而耐人寻味的英文电影，一首触碰心灵的英语歌曲都可以是你学习英语和认识英语国家文化的素材。你还可以尝试着写英文日记，写英文诗歌，记录和抒发自己的喜怒哀乐。此外，我们七年级八位英语老师给大家精挑细选了适合初中生阅读的英文原著，英文电影和英文歌曲等，希望这些精神食粮能如夏日清风和冬日暖阳，润色你的中学生活。

       5, Read more. Watch more. Hear more. Think more. Write more. English is open and international. Instead of the numbers of words and boring English grammar, there are still many things from which you can learn English. For example, an interesting English original book, a meaningful English movie, and a touching English song can also be your learning materials. You can also try to write English diaries and poems to record your happiness and sorrow. Moreover, the English teachers have also earnestly prepared a list for you to choose. Hope that the spiritual nourishment will enrich your middle school life.  

    最后，送给你一句话“Practice makes perfect.”英语学习好的同学并不是因为他有多聪明，只是因为他比你练习得更多了几遍。亲爱的同学，初中是一个全新的开始，让我们从零开始，一起加油，在北二外成都附中的英语课堂认真奋斗每一天，一步一个脚印，收获一口标准流利的英语口语，一手规范漂亮的英文书写，一颗永不言弃的年轻的心，让在北二外成都附中的日子成为铸就你人生辉煌的基石！我们相信你，永远相信！
